A message from Andrew Hancy the Chair of Governors.
School governing bodies are responsible for working with the school to ensure that it delivers a good quality education. Together with the head teacher, who is responsible for day-to-day management, they set the school's aims and policies.
Governors are responsible for:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and the performance management of staff.
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
The full governing body typically meets three times a year. You can keep up to date with the governing Body news, through the Willoughby Weekly newsletter. The governing body at Willoughby consists of 12 full Governors and 1 associate members.
